Starting salary:  $39.11-$43.12 hourly (full range: $39.11-$48.94)

*Pay rate is based on level of experience equivalent to TCRC

Job Summary:

The Lead Intake Coordinator serves the Clinical Intake Coordinators and supports the Clinical Director in oversight of intake timeline and caseload, use of person-centered practices and assumes intake duties in the absence of the intake coordinator.

In addition, as an Intake Coordinator, screens prospective individuals over age 3, provides person-centered interviews, social assessments, gathering relevant information, arranges diagnostic evaluation, and supports the multidisciplinary team while complying with statutory requirements through intake.

In order to be able to provide the assistance needed to the manager and the team, the Lead IC will have a reduced caseload by 50%.

Primary Functions:

  1. Maintain knowledge base and written materials regarding Lanterman Act laws and
  2. Demonstrate an operative knowledge about developmental disabilities and how families are
  3. Demonstrate an operative knowledge of a variety of approaches to intervention and
  4. Demonstrate an operative knowledge of the Tri-Counties Regional Center system, the legal system, and individual civil rights and overall advocacy.
  5. Work in a cooperative and collaborative manner as a team
  6. Develop and maintain good relationships with community
  7. Participate in professional growth and development through attendance at in-service and other training activities, conferences and other job-related agency approved events.

Specific Job Duties

In addition to service coordination, Lead Intake Coordinator will:

  1. Provide person-centered training and mentoring to new intake employees as well as assist the Clinical Director in coordination of ongoing training for the intake coordinators.
  2. Function as the primary point of contact for intake coordinator
  3. Develop a strong relationship with the court system in all three counties to encourage appropriate
  4. Collaborate with the local school districts to develop, and coordinate the implementation of regional center services.
  5. Engage in in-person community outreach throughout the TCRC catchment area to facilitate appropriate referrals and support communication with vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory deadlines.
  6. Develop consistent intake systems across offices, updating protocols and procedures for OPS, obtaining data for collection regarding case load, response to timelines, and workloads.

Provides additional caseload coverage to Intake Coordinators when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in human services field or a related area, with 2 years of applicable experience in mental health or social work, AND 1-year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. 2 years Regional Center experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires the ability to work independently. Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. This is primarily a sedentary office classification. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, finger dexterity and fine coordination in preparing statistical reports and data using a computer keyboard and calculator. Additionally, the position requires near, far, and color vision in reading correspondence, statistical data, and using the computer. Hearing and speech are required to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone.
Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects necessary to perform job functions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and infrequently up to 20 lbs. The position requires standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily office activities. Work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may encounter upset individuals over the phone and/or in person. Each of these physical tasks is an essential function of the position.
